1. Planning
and Zoning Administration:
A. June 14, 1:30 p.m., meeting with Wright
County P&Z Administrator, Tom Salkowski; Assistant County Attorney, Tom
Zims; County Commissioner, Karla Heeter; Township Planner, Charles Marohn;
Township Attorney, Tim Young; Town Board
and Charlotte Quiggle, Corinna Township Planning Commission Chairman.
Charlotte reported that Township Attorney Tim Young
presentation was that the township has the right to do its own planning and
zoning; township is willing to negotiate with Wright County; information can be
shared; and township will not be giving up on this request. Tom Salkowski stated the need of more
communication and Wright County
P&Z continues to request share of permit fees. More negotiation is needed for sharing
historical records. Charlotte noted that she had expressed during this meeting
that the township community wants local control; that township plan uses a
restrictive 1 per 40 acres building entitlement; the use of Planned Unit
Developments (PUDs) for larger developments and that the Minnesota Township
Association supports Corinna Township.
Commissioner Karla Heeter’s negative approach was “why duplicate Wright
County’s Planning and Zoning?” Planner
Charles Marohn noted that he has several workable procedures for sharing
information. Timetable for Wright County
Planning and Zoning response is 60 days to mull over the information gathered.
