***HELPFUL HINTS FOR LOADING***

JUNK AMNESTY is a service for Corinna Township property owners. In order for your load to be removed from your truck or trailer, please follow these guidelines when loading. If your load contains appliances, put them near the front of the load. They are unloaded last. If you have cement or shingles, load them on a pallet or boards so they can be unloaded with the Bobcat or Loader. Keep scrap iron separate from the other material. If you are able bodied, please help unload your trash. Our “muscle power” supply is limited. Thanks for your cooperation

NEW TOWN HALL

At the Annual Meeting in March, a discussion took place about the construction of a new town hall and converting the existing meeting room to equipment storage. The consensus was for the Board to move ahead with the planning and to obtain cost estimates. When these were in place, to call a Special Meeting of the electors to approve or reject the project. NOTHING WILL BE DONE UNTIL APPROVAL IS GIVEN.

There are many reasons for considering the construction at this time. First, more space is needed for the equipment. Second, as the population of the Township continues to grow, office space is needed in order to have room for equipment and record storage. Third, the meeting room can not always accommodate all the people attending special meetings. Fourth, interest rates are still favorable.

The Board will have the necessary information gathered for a special meeting, Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at 7 p.m., town hall, All township residents who are eligible voters will be able to vote on the question. Legal notices will be posted in the Messenger and the Advocate. Information will also be posted on the web site.

HELPFUL CALLS

Many residents have taken the time to call the Clerk, 2745-5179, or the maintenance men, 274-8049, when a problem has been observed. Problems, such as tree branches on the road, missing or damaged address signs, or minor road washouts. We appreciate your calls. They are helpful.

PARKING ON TOWNSHIP ROADS

The Town Board has tried to have a parking policy based on common sense. Short term parking should be on the road edge on the right hand side. Don’t park on curves and places where the parked vehicle will obstruct the vision of other drivers. Don’t park on both sides of the road if the parked vehicle will prevent emergency vehicles from going through at normal speed. When common sense is not used, NO PARKING signs will be installed. Please inform us of problem areas.
