Two supervisors will be elected. The one year term is the remaining year of Ken Jude’s term. Two candidates have

filed, Alan Jude and Mark Obinger. The three year term is to fill the expired term of Bill Lieb. He did not file. Dick Naaktgeboren filed for this position.

Polls will be open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Corinna Town Hall.

The Annual Meeting will begin after the Polls close. The main agenda items for the Annual Meeting are:

1. Reports from the Town Board on completed activities and proposed

activities for 2008.

2. Report on Township Planning and Zoning (see related article).

3. Presentation of the 2008 budget. Only in township government do the electors, who attend the Annual Meeting, control the expenditures.

BOARD OF EQUALIZATION

April 12 at 3:00 PM at the Corinna Town Hall, the Board of Appeal and Equalization will meet. If you have concerns about the value placed on your property, set up an appointment to attend. If you have questions, contact Ken Yager, the Township Assessor, at 963-6219. He may be able to answer your questions about the increase and give you suggestions of things to bring to the Board to support your claim.

CORINNA TOWNSHIP PLANNING AND ZONING

A brief recap of what has taken place during the past year. At the 2006 Annual Meeting, approval was given to move forward with our own Planning and Zoning and to hire Community Growth Institute to supply the planning. Two visioning sessions were held to gather input from the residents. A ten member Planning Task Force was appointed and charged with developing a land use plan. The Land Use Plan was presented at a Public Hearing on November 28. At the January 16 meeting Community Growth was hired to put together Corinna’s Ordinances for Land Use. These were received in draft form at the February 20 Town Board meeting The next step is to appoint a Planning Commission. The first order of business will be a complete review of the draft ordinances. The final draft will be presented to Wright County for comment. Hopefully it will be accepted, if not, negotiations and clarification will need to take place. After resolution has taken place a public hearing will take place for resident input. Hopefully, that will allow Corinna to move forward and begin Planning and Zoning with local control.

TOWN HALL RENTAL

The new town hall is available to residents on a rental basis. Contact the Clerk for information, rates, and a written agreement.
